Bath Time
Europeans embrace baths instead of showers. Taking baths, especially detoxifying algae baths do more than just deeply relax you. They help you get rid of cellulite, water retention, lactic acid build up in your muscles after a workout and really just make you feel great from head to toe.
It is always best to dry brush your body starting on your ankles and working your way up your legs, front and back, your abdomen in a clockwise direction, your arms stretched out over your head starting at the back of your hands and working your way to your armpits, and as much of your back as you can reach. Scrub with a veggie brush until you are super red, creating hyperemia (reddening of the skin) and then step into your detoxifying bath. The bath water should be warm, never hot. Just keep adding warm water to the tub to keep the temperature a constant comfortable temperature. Make sure you are clean before you get into the tub so you can just rinse the algae bath off of your skin without the use of any cleanser, which would negate the positive effects of the bath.
After bathing, pat your skin dry and apply a lightweight body lotion or my Marine Lotion if you are working on reducing cellulite.
Fun Facts from Susan:
- I always ask my clients to write in their journal while bathing. It helps keep people's thoughts organized and emotionally balanced.
- Add 2 cups of organic apple cider vinegar to your bath water. It can lift your spirits
