Skincare Resolutions for the New Year

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season filled with love, peace, and happiness. I know this is the time of year that we all make resolutions promising for a better new year. Here are ten health and beauty tips that hopefully will make it onto your list:
  1. Begin each morning with positive affirmations. 
  2. Each morning, before eating or drinking anything, perform your oral hygiene well. Then drink a glass of water with fresh lemon juice added to help cleanse you internally. Always rinse your mouth afterward to protect the enamel of your teeth. 
  3. Chew slowly. The better you chew, the better your digestion. This helps minimize your pores and helps avoid rosacea. 
  4. Never use a tinted moisturizer. You don't want that pigment being absorbed into your skin. 
  5. Dry brush your body daily. Start at your ankles and work your way up your body, always toward your heart. This increases circulation and allows for your lymphatic system to be stimulated as well. 
  6. Drink 1/2 ounce of water per pound that you weigh daily for proper hydation. 
  7. Eat a colorful diet of fresh fruits and vegetables - preferably organic. This gives you a cross blend of nutrients from above and below the ground foods. 
  8. Exercise for a least 45 minutes a day to increase your heart rate and set your metabolism for the day. You're never too old to develop a yoga practice so try yoga! 
  9. Meditate daily. This helps to increase brain function, which comes in handy when you are older. 
  10. Wash your face twice per day. Always use warm water to wash and cool water to rinse. The cleaner your skin, the better your canvas will look. If using a milk cleanser, always use a warm, damp washcloth and rinse with cool water.
