Preventing Dry Skin During Winter

Show Self-Love & Self-Compassion with an Anti-Aging Smoothie Recipe.

"Healthy, beautiful skin is the result of a healthy body, healthy mind, healthy lifestyle, and a great natural skincare routine ."

February, the month of love, is here. When you think of the word love, the first thing that comes to mind for most people is another person. Often we forget that the most essential kind of love is self love. Loving yourself is paramount if you want to be in a healthy, loving relationship with another.

Susan Ciminelli Healthy Skin Starts With a Healthy Body and Mind

Taking good care of yourself inside and out is a good way to start. Your skin reflects what is happening in your body as a whole. If you are suffering from dry skin, it may not only be from an inadequate skin care routine, but also from a diet that's low in healthy fats, low glycemic fruits, and above and below ground grown vegetables which contain minerals and trace elements.

The foods you need to incorporate into your weekly diet should contain nutrient rich, healthy fats. That can include avocado, nuts, seeds, salmon, mackerel, cod, herring, and dairy from goat's milk, which is much easier to digest than cow milk.

In order to get enough of these important anti-aging nutrients into your diet, try my smoothie recipe. It will change your world!

Anti-Aging Smoothie Recipe for Beautiful Skin by Susan Ciminelli

1/2 ripe avocado
1/2 cup nuts, (almonds, walnuts, cashews or pecans)
1 tablespoon ground flax seeds, either brown or golden
1/2 cup chopped spinach
1 teaspoon chopped ginger
1 apple of your choice for sweetness
1 tablespoon pure cocoa powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon bee pollen
2 cups of water, hemp milk or almond milk

Blend well in a high-powered blender. If it's too thick, thin it out with more water. This is a great meal replacement. It is not only great for your skin, your hair will benefit too! This healthy smoothie will fuel your day and provide an abundance of energy.

Prevent Dry Skin During Frigid February Temperatures.

Anti-Aging Skincare Winter Routine to Wrinkles and Fight Dry Skin Susan Ciminelli
February not only represents love, but is one of the coldest months of the year for most of us, unless you're lucky enough to live in Florida or Southern California.

Cold temperatures and biting wind leave our skin in need of more hydration during the winter months. Removing dead skin cells and unclogging your pores enables your skincare beauty products to more effectively penetrate your skin and give deep and lasting hydration.

To achieve this, use Algae Deep Cleanse twice in the morning and Bamboo Ginger Scrub at night with your evening routine.
Bamboo Ginger Scrub is used after Cleansing Milk as part of your evening skincare routine. Cleansing Milk contains soothing lavender, and healing Calendula extracts, as well as castor oil for purifying your skin.

An essential part of the facials that I give at my spa is Algae Deep Cleanse. I use it two to three times to remove many layers of dead skin cells. Clients are amazed at how smooth and silky their skin feels after just five minutes. Removing dead skin cells and debris prepares your skin for product application leaving skin feeling transformed. Algae Deep Cleanse should be incorporated into your daily routine for clean, glowing skin.

After your skin is thoroughly cleansed, layer your essential oil, followed by Marine Lotion, Seawater, and then any one of the nourishing Susan Ciminelli moisturizers best for your skin. Complete the ritual with Eye and Wrinkle Cream around the eyes and lips.

I highly recommend
Sensitive Skin Formula essential oil for the winter as it helps to preserve your capillary walls. Taking 500 mg of Vitamin C daily is also a great way to protect your capillary walls. If you smoke cigarettes, your capillaries become hard and brittle, impeding the flow of blood, which in turn leaves your skin dry and brittle.

Vitamin C helps make your veins more pliable. For your health, vitality, and longevity, you should try very hard to stop smoking. In the meantime, Vitamin C can help you begin the healing process.

With biting cold temperatures sweeping across much of the country, your skin will need more protection to keep it soft, supple, and radiant. Moisture Replenishing Day Cream  is my favorite product for combatting intense winter weather conditions.
