February Newsletter

February, the month of love, is here. When you think of the word love, the first thing that comes to mind for most people is another person. Often we forget that the most essential kind of love is self love. Loving yourself is paramount if you want to be in a healthy, loving relationship with another. Taking good care of yourself inside and out is a good way to start. Your skin reflects what is happening in your body as a whole. If you are dry, it may not only be from an inadequate skin care routine, but also from a diet that's low in healthy fats, low in glycemic fruits and vegetables, and low in minerals and trace elements. The foods that should be incorporated into your weekly diet that contain nutrient rich, healthy fats are avocado, nuts, seeds, salmon, mackerel, cod, herring, and dairy from goat's milk, which is much easier to digest. In order to get enough of these important anti-aging nutrients into your diet, try my smoothie recipe. It will change your world!

Smoothie recipe

1/2 ripe avocado
1/2 cup nuts, (almonds, walnuts, cashews or pecans)
1 tablespoon ground flax seeds, either brown or golden
1/2 cup chopped spinach
1 teaspoon chopped ginger
1 apple of your choice for sweetness
1 tablespoon pure cocoa powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon bee pollen
2 cups of water, oat milk, rice milk, hemp milk or almond milk

Blend well in a high-powered blender. If it's too thick, thin it out with more water. This is a great meal replacement. It is not only great for your skin, your hair will benefit too! This healthy smoothie will fuel your day and provide an abundance of energy.

February not only represents love, but is one of the coldest months of the year for most of us, unless you're lucky enough to live in Florida or Southern California. Cold temperatures and biting wind leave our skin in need of more hydration during the winter months. Removing dead skin cells and unclogging your pores enables your products to more effectively penetrate your skin and give deep and lasting hydration. To achieve this, use Algae Deep Cleanse twice in the morning and Bamboo Ginger Scrub at night with your evening routine. Bamboo Ginger Scrub is used after Cleansing Milk. Cleansing Milk contains soothing lavender, and healing Calendula extracts, as well as castor oil for purifying your skin. An essential part of my facials is Algae Deep Cleanse. I use it two to three times to remove many layers of dead skin cells. Clients are amazed at how smooth and silky their skin feels after just five minutes. Removing dead skin cells and debris prepares your skin for product application leaving skin feeling transformed. Algae Deep Cleanse should be incorporated into your daily routine for clean, glowing skin.

After your skin is thoroughly cleansed, layer your essential oil, followed by Marine Lotion, Seawater, and then any one of the nourishing Susan Ciminelli moisturizers best for your skin. Complete the ritual with Eye and Wrinkle Cream around the eyes and lips. I highly recommend Sensitive Skin Formula essential oil for the winter as it helps to preserve your capillary walls. Taking 500 mg of Vitamin C daily is also a great way to protect your capillary walls. If you smoke cigarettes, your capillaries become hard and brittle, impeding the flow of blood, which in turn leaves your skin dry and brittle. Vitamin C helps make your veins more pliable. For your health, vitality, and longevity, you should try very hard to stop smoking. In the meantime, Vitamin C can help you begin the healing process.
When trying to find that inner self love, always remember that your brain is the command center for your body. Repeated meditation helps create larger amounts of grey matter in your brain, which in turn helps your mood and disposition. If you want to attract love, you need to give off positive energy. Meditation enables you to become calm, loving and relaxed, and who does not want that?  A warm, fragrant bath is also a lovely way to relax, and an easy way for you to begin to practice self love. Let's share peace and love with everyone. Random acts of kindness make the giver of love ultimately become the receiver of love. We are all connected like spokes on a wheel. Hurt one person and we all get hurt. Uplift yourself and you uplift others.
With biting cold temperatures sweeping across much of the country, your skin will need more protection to keep it soft, supple, and radiant. Moisture Replenishing Day Cream  is my favorite product for combating intense winter weather conditions. This Luxurious face cream contains the wonder anti-aging ingredient, Matrixyl 300, natural anti-aging ingredients, amino acids, and other nourishing ingredients that bring back the luster and youthful radiance to the skin. It’s the perfect remedy for the harsh winter months.
For outside enthusiasts, I highly recommend Susan Ciminelli SPF 30. Although skies may be overcast, damaging rays can still penetrate your skin. Susan Ciminelli SPF 30 is an ultra-luxurious, antioxidant-rich UVA/UVB sunblock that moisturizes and nourishes the skin while offering full sun protection.
