HYDRADERMABRASION TREATMENTS FOR SUN DAMAGE

If you’ve experienced any sun damage this summer from over exposure to the hot summer sun, I highly recommend coming in for our Hydradermabrasion treatment. This non-invasive, gentle and pain free treatment will improve the appearance of dark spots on the skin caused by sun damage. I’ve actually used it on my skin for this exact reason, and can’t tell you what a tremendous difference it has made! The brown spots I once had are now so much lighter, it’s only a matter of time before they disappear completely. This treatment is also great for exfoliating dead layers of the skin, helping to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and building collagen in the skin. Along with being performed on the face this treatment can be done on the, décolleté (chest area), heels and the arms. Call the Beauty Clinic to book an appointment, my staff and I would be happy to answer any additional questions you may have about this phenomenal service!

THE IMPORTANCE OF FREQUENT PEDICURES

Feet are often one of the most neglected parts of the body, but should not be forgotten. Getting regular pedicures can help you to prevent various foot conditions. It is important to keep the toenails short and clean, if you allow them to grow too long ingrown toenails can develop, which can result due to the pressure of your shoes. I also suggest changing your polish every few weeks; it is possible for a toenail fungus to develop under an old coat of nail polish and you may not even notice with old polish on. Here at the Beauty Clinic we offer an extremely thorough pedicure, pampering the feet and legs so they look and feel great. My Restorative Red Marine Algae Cream, the strongest cream in my line, is used during the pedicure and helps to deeply nourish and bring moisture to the skin. This cream is essential for the feet as they tend to get very dry, especially once the cooler weather hits. View the link below to find out more about my very own Restorative Red Marine Algae.

THE MANY WAYS TO USE MARINE LOTION

Most of you probably think of the famous “Ciminelli Glow” (dubbed by The New York Times) when someone mentions my Marine Lotion. However, what makes this miracle elixir so fantastic is that it has various other uses as well. If you or someone you know is experiencing sunburn, applying my Marine Lotion to the affected area(s) will help to soothe the sunburn, cooling the skin and making the redness less visible. You’ll be amazed by how effective this multiuse serum is at soothing the skin and helping to restore the body with new healthy skin. This serum is also great as a cellulite treatment and can be used all over the body. You can find out more about Marine Lotion and order it online by clicking the link below.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SPF ALL YEAR ROUND

We all know how important it is to protect our skin from the summer sun, but what about the rest of the year? The real truth is that regardless of the time of year, you should always be sure to cover up with sunscreen; the sun is always up there. You do not have to be actively sunbathing to receive sun damage. Although the UVB/UVA rays may seemingly be less intense, damage can still occur to the skin even if it feels “less damaging”. Exposure to UVA/UVB rays is linked to increasing the risk of skin cancer, such as melanoma. Whenever you spend time outdoors (yes, no matter what season) an SPF of 30 or higher should be applied, and then reapplied at least every two hours. My very own SPF 30 is a great sunscreen. One of the primary ingredients, Green Tea Extract, is spectacular, it has numerous health benefits including: fights damage caused by free radicals, prevents skin cancer, fights inflammation, and helps treat various skin disorders. My ultra-luxurious, antioxidant rich moisturizing sunscreen, will nourish the skin while offering great sun protection, and leave it feeling soft and fresh! It also contains zinc, which increases the blockage of both UVB and UVA rays. Remember you should use a moisturizer along with my SPF 30. You can find out more about my SPF 30 and order it online by clicking the link below.

THE IMPORTANCE OF EXFOLIATING

Exfoliating the skin is crucial to maintaining healthy and glowing skin. When you exfoliate, you are removing dead skin cells on the surface. Exfoliating helps to improve: blemished skin, dark marks, clogged pores, pigmentation, ingrown hairs, and dry skin. I recommend exfoliating at least twice a week, as it will not only help various skin problems, but it will also increase the blood circulation in your skin which leads to healthier glowing skin. My Body Buff is great for giving the skin a luminous and radiant look. It is a non-abrasive full body scrub that will leave your skin silky smooth and soft. I can’t stress enough the importance of exfoliating, not doing so will cause skin to build up and create a grayish look. You can find out more about Body Buff and order it online by clicking the link below.

CLEANSING MILK & SEAWATER FOR SHAVING

Ladies, please share your Cleansing Milk and Seawater with your husband! My Cleansing Milk should be used as a pre-shave, it is very gentle and soothing on the skin, it will help to prevent any type of rash or razor-burn from developing. After shaving, Seawater can be applied to the skin; this natural antiseptic will help to prevent any ingrown hairs from coming in. Both my Cleansing Milk and Seawater are great for all types of skin. I promise once you allow your husband that first try, he will not want to shave without them; my husband always makes sure we have an extra of each at all times! You can find out more about both my Cleansing Milk and Seawater and order them online by clicking the links below.

MAINTAINING A HEALTHY DIET

I want you to all make sure you are maintaining a healthy diet as we transition into the fall. The summer tends to make it easier on us to maintain a healthy lifestyle, thanks to the gorgeous weather, longer days, and farmers markets filled with fresh produce. However, this is not an excuse for you to let go of those healthy summertime habits! Make sure to take advantage of the weather while it’s still warm enough to exercise outside. I suggest increasing the number of apples you are eating, it is a great time to also do an apple fast, often referred to as an apple cleanse. I recommend going on the fast for 3 days. Every fall I make sure to do an apple fast, it’s amazing how great I feel at the end of this cleanse, it gives the body a chance to expel stored toxins and waste materials. If you are considering this fast or any type of fast, you always want to make sure to consult with your doctor first. Apples make for a great fasting food, as they are a fantastic source of antioxidants, disease-fighting compounds, as well as fiber. A few of the many health benefits, include: reducing cholesterol, reducing your risk for various cancers, preventing gallstones, allowing for a healthier heart, boosting the immune system, detoxifying your liver, and protecting against Parkinson’s disease. I highly suggest trying my Green Apple Refresher (Found in my book The Ciminelli Solution: A 7-Day Plan for Radiant Skin), this is also a great choice for cleansing the body and should be drank for one day, all day long. (Recipe below)

HEALTH BENEFITS OF BUTTERNUT SQUASH

Butternut Squash is one of my favorite vegetables to eat a few times a month during the fall season. The earthy, sweet, smoky flavors warm my heart and soul. This vegetable contains a rich source of fiber and has an ample amount of vitamin A in it. Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant which is necessary to help the body maintain the purity of the skin. Butternut squash also contains a large amount of vitamin C; one serving provides you with over half of the recommended intake for the day. Vitamin C is needed to help the body produce collagen, helping to maintain the structure of the skin and preventing absorption and spreading of environmental toxins, pathogenic substances and cancer cells. I’m sharing with you my own delicious Butternut Squash recipe; try it as a side dish for dinner or even as a small, healthy afternoon snack. (Recipe below)

Q & A

Q: Are there any foods in particular you recommend I cut out of my diet, ones that have an overall negative impact on the skin’s health and appearance?
A:
Eliminate dairy, fried foods, processed sugar and processed foods. Eliminating dairy and fried foods will cut down on Milia which are whitehead-like blemishes that often appear on the skin. Soda should also be eliminated because it destroys calcium in the body, a lack of calcium weakens the bones and thins the skin. Eliminating soda will help to eliminate crinkly skin and surface wrinkles. There are two types of wrinkles, the type that is a result of muscle movements such a laugh lines you develop on the face, and the type that is right on the surface of the skin which is affected by dieting. The wrinkles you develop from daily muscle movements on the face cannot be avoided; the only way to get rid of these is by getting Botox or fillers. However, the wrinkles and fine lines on the surface of the skin affected by your diet can be avoided by maintaining a healthy and nutrient rich diet.

Q:
What foods would you recommend I stock up on? I’m looking for foods that will help provide me with extra hydration and allow my skin to maintain its radiant and glowing complexion – just as your products have helped to do!
A: You want to be eating calcium rich foods such as broccoli, kale, romaine lettuce, carrots (excellent source of vitamin A), salmon, sardines, and tofu. Also be sure you are incorporating lean proteins into your diet. It is very important that the food you are consuming is fresh, and whenever possible you should be eating organic foods. This is especially important for certain foods such as soy beans and berries. Soy beans and berries are a sponge for pesticides, if you cannot get these foods organic, you should not eat them at all. Beans are another great food to incorporate into your daily diet, particularly chickpeas. Cultures who incorporate beans into their diet on a daily basis, such as Latinos and Italians, tend to have thicker more radiant skin. Healthy snacking foods that I always try to eat include celery, radishes and apples. Apples contain malic acid and make for a delicious and filling snack. Each of these foods also contain many antioxidants and are packed with Vitamin C, Potassium and Iron. These nutrient rich foods are great for the skin, the water in radishes and celery are especially great for helping to maintain healthy moisture levels. Whenever I have a sugar craving, I turn to nature’s very own dates and honey which I love to put in my tea. It amazes me how bees can create something as delicious as honey. Although this is cheating, and both dates and honey have a high glycemic index, it is so much better for you than eating a candy bar full of sugar and artificial ingredients.

Q: With season changes, I tend to notice my skin type change, my skin gets very dry during the fall, what would you recommend?
A: I recommend exfoliating the dead skin cells that accumulate from the summer sun first. Next use essential oils for your skin type for deep hydration such as one of my four unique blends. Follow by using a generous application of my Seawater to drive moisture and nutrients into the skin to give you a radiant glow. The last step is to apply an ample amount of one of my moisturizers all over the face. For cool and dry weather I recommend using my Calming Cream or Revitalizing Sensitive Skin Moisturizer as your day cream, and my Restorative Red Marine Algae for your night cream.

Q: What are the main health and beauty benefits that essential oils will provide me with?
A: Essential oils have been used for thousands of years, they are time proven and one of the best and most natural ways to improve the skin. Essential oils are packed with energy and nutrients and naturally kill bacteria and fungus while also increasing blood flow circulation. There are tons of essential oils to choose from, a few of the most common benefits they offer include: anti-aging and prevention against dryness, oiliness, and acne.
